First Aid at Work (FAW) - HSE Accredited

Upon successful completion of this three day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practise for three years after which a 2 day re-qualification course becomes necessary.

As of 1st October 2009, the HSE strongly recommend that you take an annual half day refresher course after completion of this course, however this is not mandatory or accredited by the HSE.

During the course delegates will cover the following areas:

• Accidents and illness
• Using a first aid kit
• Simple record keeping
• Treatment of an unconscious casualty;
• Heart attacks
• Resuscitation
• Shock
• Choking
• Bleeding
• Burns and scalds
• Poisoning
• Fractures
• Seizures
• Asthma
• Severe allergic reaction
• Eye injuries
• Low blood sugar
• Fainting

The course will include practical and interactive exercises.
